| Qualifications | (1) African-American male or female - not of Hispanic origin |
| (2) 2.90 or above cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale plus student rank | |
| (3) Graduating 2025 high school senior from Austin area high school | |
| Required Documents | (1) Online student scholarship application (parent signature) |
| (2) Upload official transcript (high school counselor signature) | |
| (3) Upload a one-page written essay in response to one of the three topics. | |
| Scholarship | The scholarship will be awarded in August, 2025. Scholarship recipients must submit an official copy of his/her college schedule to Dr. Cornel Jones on or after August 1, 2025 via email. A check will be mailed to the student or the universitys student financial office per request. |
| Due Date | Saturday, April 12, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. CST |
| Scholarship Recipients | Scholarship recipients will be notified via US mail or telephone by Saturday, April 19, 2025. Also, a copy of the award letter will be sent to the recipients high school counselor. |
